Did You Know! Symbol Yard using Resin Infused techniques

Sarin designed Symbol Yachts are known for timeless profiles and soft rides, but those that own/work them and those they come in contact with (docks, pilings, waves) will remind you that they are equally if not more recognizable for their strength. For years this was a result of a heavy hand during the lamination schedule earning them an “over built” label, but their current strength is based on working smarter not harder. Today’s Symbol Yachts are lighter and more fuel efficient, yet even stronger. All of this is a result of Symbol’s investment in vacuum assisted resin infusion replacing conventional hand lamination and vacuum bagging with a foam-impregnating procedure that produces stronger, lighter and more durable builds.

Coastal shot with Palm tree, Keep Florida greenThe benefits are dramatic... Go Green:
infusion is done through a bagging system that virtually eliminates hazardous emissions making it safer for both the worker and the environment. Lighter builds means more efficient rides which can lead to smaller engine packages that burn less fuel. This of course can mean lower costs for our owners and increased range. Symbol’s commitment to this superior build method is not limited to the hull and superstructure, it’s applied just about everywhere that’s practical including decks, flooring, bulkheads, arches, hardtops and the exterior furniture.

Though it is a more expensive and elaborate set up, the upside is undeniable which is why it’s so surprising that the majority of builders worldwide including many of the premier brands have not upgraded their ways. Hopefully more will come around soon so we can continue to decrease our footprint and secure boating for generations to come.
